We usually discuss the revolutionary era of SEO and many think of SGE (search generative experience) and AI-driven results in SERPs. Yes, these are transformative, but the main focus with clients goes beyond the traditional scope of Google. Much of effective SEO in today’s social media era involves platforms like Reddit, Quora and TikTok. The platforms align with changing behaviors of users and complement the evolving priorities of Google.

Users today crave for community, authenticity and personalized content as well. Generic statements are not acceptable. Insincere marketing efforts are also no longer acceptable. Brands must engage in genuine interactions and simultaneously show empathy for specific needs and challenges of users.

Brands can connect with through authentic and less polished content. They can use platforms like Quora, Reddit and TikTok for the purpose. The platforms allow for unfiltered views and user-generated content (UGC). Brands can build a presence on Reddit and Quora by participating in relevant subreddits or discussions. They can host AMAs and also create insightful as well as first-person content.

However, it is important to following community guidelines on the platforms to avoid spammy sales pitches. It is also important to respect user expectations to build credibility and boost visibility of content in SERPs. Building a community can provide value to users and rank well on Google.

UGC is a powerful tool and especially with the rise of TikTok. Its authenticity makes it more relatable and trustworthy. Brands can use it across various platforms and enhance their authenticity as well as user engagement.

Google’s E-E-A-T (Experience, Expertise, Authoritativeness, and Trustworthiness) highlights the importance of authentic content. It is not a direct ranking factor. However, it influences how Google evaluates and prioritizes content. Some of its features include hidden gems, discussions and forums in search results.
